Experience the Hatch Difference.

“It’s our goal to make sure every family that walks through our doors feels heard, supported, and like an extension of our own families. We collaborate to maintain a positive and enriching environment for our students and share a goal of seeing their kid win in every way possible.”

— Anzania Preston,
School Operations Manager

First Up: Our Gymnasium

Hatch's sunlit gym is an excellent resource for student-athletes.

We offer athletics like our (championship-winning) boys’ basketball team, flag football, track, cheerleading, and soccer.

Did we mention
our flag football team has won consecutive city championships in 2023 and 2024?

The extracurricular experience goes beyond athletics.

We offer a variety of enrichment opportunities through activities like Cooking Club and Girl Scouts, and special events such as the Fall Festival and an overnight annual trip to Princeton's Blairstown Center for sixth-grade team-building.

Our goal is to build a community that allows students to identify and pursue their interests outside the classroom.

A Space to Celebrate Community.

Our renovated auditorium supplements our extracurricular programming.

The space has retained its original charm and offers a stunning backdrop for student performances and community events.

Events like...

...Hatch Games!

Here, students compete in a sing-off during the school’s monthly 'Hatch Games' in the auditorium, where the community comes together for friendly competition, and to celebrate academic and personal growth.

Speaking of Growth...

In math class, it's visible every day.

KIPP Hatch Middle (along with KIPP Lanning Square Middle!) achieved the best math scores in Camden in 2024 on NJ SLA exams, demonstrating our commitment to student success.

“I want eighth graders to know that they will improve if they approach each concept with an open mind and curiosity, believe in their ability to learn new things and commit to practicing and implementing feedback. I want them to feel ownership over their growth and success so they’re well-prepared for high school.”
— Carly Scott, Hatch Math Teacher

In Science,
Inquiry Reigns.

Science teacher Ryan Weaver has been with KIPP Hatch Middle since it was founded in 2016 (as KIPP Whittier Middle) and makes science engaging for his students.

“Science empowers us with curiosity and a way to understand the world around us. Through investigations, experiments, simulations, and our learning, we make connections, form ideas, and test our hypotheses. Science is everywhere!” said Weaver.

Our school size means every student gets the attention they deserve.

Teachers and staff focus on each child’s strengths and areas for growth, providing tailored learning.

We proudly support all learners, including those with IEPs and multilingual language learners. Our inclusive culture celebrates the diverse backgrounds and abilities of our students.
